Building connections, bridging divides

Addressing problems and creating solutions, insight into specific work I've done to improve my local communities.

Understanding access to opportunity

This brief showcases a form of transit inequity in Staten Island, New York, along with a policy I created that could address the issue. By identifying issues within communities, we allow them to restructure and prosper. A big part of creating change is not simply identifying a problem, but creating a solution in which we allow our environment a chance to improve.

Addressing college affordability and equity

An issue I have witnessed is how minority students from NYC are unable to pursue higher education, especially outside of our state. Being one of the privileged few is what fueled me to consider ways in which we could decrease tuition. This deliberation guide, while specific to Penn State, should be created at all institutions to make education accessible. Only when everyone is able to pursue higher education can all communities be free of their constraints.
